Negligent Father Mix
#11
Very good mix! Guitars and vox sound great.

The reverb on the drums is a bit washy to me though and the snare seems a little out of place in the grand scheme, but I think you may have been going for the big eighties gate Smile. The fx on the shakers are cool at first, but get a little dizzying after a while...hard since the recording sounds like a can of nuts and bolts.

Everything else is great though.

I liked the mix, it sounds good, nice to hear, creative effects. I would clean a little frequency on the bass guitar because around 250hz and 60hz, it would make the guitar appear more and bass drum come more serious punch.

Hey Igor - thanks for the comment! I took your advice and tweaked the bass - better?

I like it more with the new bass guitar changes. Sounds lighter.
I would also experience changes in two other elements that I believe would give a greater sense of energy.

1- would increase the sound of room mono a dbs, maybe you need to adjust kick the kick for a little less increasing the mono room. It will bring you an interesting "dirt".

2- The base guitar can work a little more brightness around 4hz and a dbs close to 200hz. And the guitar that enters just by marking and completing the base guitar can be a bit higher and have a luster in a region of frequency higher than the base, around 6khz. This tends to take a bite more in the music.

I also made a mix of this song and found it a challenge, the bass track has old string sound and the instruments sound more veiled than they should in my opinion. Anyway for me you made one of the best mix of this song that I heard here.

Cool, thanks Igor, I had a listen and left some comments on your mix.

I may come back to my mix and try those adjustments you suggested at a later date. I remember trying to get more top end out of the bass, but it didn't seem to have much in the way of anything useful up around 4k.

In any case, I think I'll let it sit and marinate for a while and maybe come back to it with fresher ears in the future. Thanks again for your help!
