This wasn't the greatest example of creative song writing, but it does sound really good.
The only mind melting engineering I did for this mix and master was I took some time and resampled the bass. I left the amp sound alone (despite obvious eq and compression), but went wild on the DI track provided. I made two copies of the DI track: one transposed an octave down (which isn't all that uncommon), and one transposed an octave up. The octave up track was then run through a mono chorus, into a basic distortion. When eq'd and leveled properly, this makes the bass really hit home.
Other than that, the mix was pretty standard.
