So apparently I completed this a few weeks back but never uploaded it. Nice...
This song is interesting tome because in the studio recording class I took, I had to work on a tune that was very much like this. It's also basically the first time I had heard this kind of vocal. I also remember that the guitar player played so soft that the DI was almost useless. It went from too soft to amplify properly to clipping. It also taught me to mic everything on a drum kit, whether you think you need the close mic or not. In my case, there was a bell there (think of the center 6 inches of a ride cymbal) that was really loud that didn't show up hardly at all in the overheads like I thought it would.
Anyway, here's my version of this one. I had to do a good number of timing edits on the guitar parts and chose to put pretty aggressive amplification on them. Intelligibility here is almost an oxymoron but I did some work on that too.
