Bolz & Knecht: 'Summertime'
#1
Some really great mix's of this song, I figured I'd give it a go.
I really liked the percussive sound on the acoustic on Dons mix so I tried to go that way. Spent some time going through reverbs for the sax and came up with one I think works. A lot of eq'ing on everything.
I used an acoustic Sim on the DI acoustic to get more of a Bass drum and rim hit effect. Brighter on the acoustics to try to accent the reggae feel.
Comments always welcome!!

Cheers

Sounds Great On My Monitors ,The bottom end sounds more cleaner and less Distorted than my Version and I like the space and depth of your Mix !

Well Done Big Grin

All the right stuff is there, K. Good Job! Little nuances that everybody's bringing to this classic jazz tune.

Here's another version, the one i'm most familiar with, by Ella Fitzgerald - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2bigf337aU (I know Mike Senior, lets all hope this rendition never gets removed from YouTube; that would be a crime.)
