Ilmari Kontia: 'Funkkihillo'
#1
Here Is Version 1 of this cool Song.
Tried to keep the song as dynamic as possible adding a kick and Snare Sample for some more punch and sent all Drums to a Fake room bus instead of using a room reverb ,experimenting playing around Using JB ozone room simulation for headphones for a room sound and blended in with the mix !
version 2 is just some more eq on the master bus !

Cheers Big Grin

Sounds good! De-essing on vocals feels a bit strong, although my opinion could be slightly biased. The levels feel very good. ^_^

Sounds great! I might try to make the vox a bit drier, but it may better this way..

Hi thedon, nice chesty knocking kick sound you got here! I like the balance and the way you got everything blending and sounding cohesive. I had to cut a lot on the Background vocals because of lower resonances muddling the mix as well on guitars. Your background vocals may befit from that move too. How you got your snare bright without the cymbals sounding harsh? Thank you.

Nice mix, Don! I think that the drum samples have added a better sound to the original tracks. I'm trying this mix too, so I think I will be doing the same thing.

Check on the guitars before that change at 1:33. I could hear some resonances a few seconds before.
mixing since April 2013

Thanks for having a listen ,I will do some changes as you have mentioned , I used more than one snare sample and found a bright snare sample .

really enjoyed this mix, felt like to much vocal fx like 30 seconds kind of mark. the guitar solo seemed a bit dry, but that's probably just me. Nice work
