Hi Stu, and welcome to CMT.
I just gave your mix a listen - 2 listens actually - once on the crummy mono headphone I'm currently attached to at work, and again via the slightly less crummy stereo laptop speakers. I hear kick drum attack, which is good considering the speakers, and a nice balance of guitars, bass and piano with the vocals. I'll give this a listen later on my studio monitors too, but I'm sure I'll like your mix even more through decent speakers. Good job!

That's one great approach, "make it tame and won't tire your ears", but just a touch too much of slam on the kick and the vocal sound just a bit veiled. Those are a single dB change and would be just right. I would say a +1 dB at 5 KHz would be good for vocals.
