My Mix of Bolz And Knecht — Summertime
#1
So Glad I found this site. This gives me work to do, to practice my craft and not let my gear go to waste. And I'm sure I will finally gain that confidence.

Please give feed back.

I read your comments about eliminating the air noise from the sax, so I looked forward to see how you handled it!

Your mix sounds nice. Guitar and sax roughly balanced equally in sound stage; both pretty much in the middle. Nice light touch on the reverb.

There are some stereo "events" (strange unevenness) around 0:59

The denoising of the sax leaves the sax sounding impersonal and smothered to my ears. In jazz music, it is characteristic to leave that sound in to make an intimate sound in a combo (or duet or solo). For example, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4H9k-d9fBk (Of course, this has brushes in it which are sort of distracting, but I'm pointing out the air noise on tenor saxes and trumpet). It's certainly possible to record the sax differently to minimize this, but it isn't just a Bad Thing ;-)

Nice handling!
