Jet B: 'Suit You'

(13-06-2017, 11:01 AM)mick2015 Wrote: Pretty solid mix, Don. It has a very even sound and is well balanced. My main issue is with the vocal, the processing detracts from the aggressive tone of the song and they sit a bit far in front. It needs more grit, dynamics and maybe some delay. Also, the guitar levels seem to drop noticeably when the vocals come in and the song loses a bit of it's driving force. I'd probably drop the level of the piano and remove some of the low-mids from it too. Cheers, Mick
Thanks for having a listen Mick ,
All good points will give them all a try in version 2

Hey Don !

Sounds good overall Wink
As previously said, the lead vocals sound disconnected. They are a bit loud and too much upfront. Some reverb will help to make them sit with the instruments.
The backing vocals could be compressed more, they ebb and flow during choruses.

Keep it up ! Good job here !

Hi! The drums could benefit from more roomy sound. Still, sounds great as usual. ^_^

Yo Don,

Nice tight and well-glued sound! Punchy and really feels good. You did manage to get a nice balance with the bass and the kick (even without the loud beater....heee heeee). Great job!

Took your suggestions and put up a second mix. When you have the time let me know if I nailed it or strayed off the beaten path....lol.

Later........

Not bad, especially after I turned it up. The one that got though was the brick wall on the kick. Nicely done.
