Keep in mind I just gave this a quick, first thing in the morning, listen.
I don't think it's too far off. What jumps out at me is the kick and bass. The Kick has a cool sound but it gets swallowed up by the guitars. I think its tone falls right in line with the guitars. Maybe a little more click would help it keep its head above water.

The bass feels a bit too big. You can especially feel it when it comes in after the guitar breaks. You might be able to carve out some low mid space that could open up some space for the kick without thinning out the mix too much.

The background 'aahhs' are a little loud to me but I think that's in the realm of personal taste.

Overall it works. This is one of those songs where a lot of things can work though.

I maybe just repeating RoyMatthews. If you've hpfd guitars, it's likely the filter resonance causing some trouble between 200-300, and probably first harmonics. You might want to counter that with further equing or readjusting filter frequency. I'd imagine that would make more room for bass, make it more audible as an instrument, and make readjusting the bass level easier. During the part after main verse, where drummer starts playing ride cymbal, 3k area builds up slightly. Probably from vocals or choir. Very subtle points, and you can also leave it as it is. Drums sound good with their roar and swell, mix has right feel. Your trademark imaging and separation.

hey don..your pm is turned off - i have something for you
Be fierce in your encouragement, kind in your criticism and try and remember that the art of a good critique is not to make someone else's mix sound like yours...but to help the mixer realize their own vision.

thedon, this mix sounds aggressive and cutthroat! Did you re-amped those guitars or its eq? Glad to hear your work again.

Thanks for having a listen I'm happy you like it !
Getting killer guitar sounds is way out of my depth Blush
used some radical eq on the guitars inspired by the Joey Sturgis sound and la20 and la3a for some grit !

I like the guitar sound. The overall balance seems to work also. Just the kick could cut through more maybe boosting in the 4-6k range might help
