For this mix, I tried simply tweaking the rough mix rather than starting everything at zero and going from there, like I'll usually do. I also put less emphasis on the drum sound than I normally do, which to me serves the low-key nature of the song well.
The one problem I had was keeping the vocal at a consistent level (especially whenever he sings the word "WITH"), but I really like how this turned out otherwise, especially with how the acoustic guitars sound. I used the FabFilter Micro on both tracks for acoustic, and while I was only going to do a subtle low pass filter, the default setting with a peak at around 5k gave the guitars a really cool, slightly saturated sound.
