Sister Cities mixed by Artbass
Hi all,

I've mixed this one a few days ago and am glad that Mike put it up here. Such a great vocal performance.

Anyway, once again there is a little problem in the tracks (and once again in the bass, there seems to be a trend, Shaking Through...). A little crackle for a few seconds, but that gets lost when everything is playing. And as I find myself distorting the bass anyway, that's not too much to bother.

When I started the mix I had "Sticky Fingers" in mind, but after relistening to that, I decided that I probably should take it in a different direction.

And now you Wink

Cheers
Artbass

Thanks to both your quick replies.

Hm, since this is not the first time someone mentions vocal levels on my mixes, I might need to take another look at this.

Cheers

I dont think they are too low, they are just are very tad in places, bit more automation and not talking much here.
The harmonica solo at the end needs going up a lot

Hm, yes, it is a very dynamic performance.

I don't really like the harmonica at all. So it has the right level Tongue I just left it there as a touch of colour. But I see what you mean.

Alright, I've just uploaded a second mix. Worked a bit on the vocals and gave the harmonica a boost in level but cut it's length.

By the way, this version comes at an average of -12,2db LUFS, according to the Steinberg SLM128 meter.
