Hi everyone,
first of all, great platform with great ressources in here and great community.
Nice to hear everyones mixes

So here is my version of the quicksand track by the travelling band, nice band, nice song and good recording material...

Would love to hear your comments on that

Keywords for my approach : raw, straight forward with some psychedelic spices here and there

It sounds pretty good. A couple of things jump out at me.
- Overall it feels like there's an excess of reverb that kind of makes it feel artificial. It' not a lot of reverb but it feels like it blankets everything and gets in the way of the song. It hides it a bit behind a veil.
- The guitars are a little indistinct. Especially the main rhythm guitar. It may be too much of a mix of the close and room track and/or the reverb. It doesn't feel like it has a set point in space.
- The bass sounds good.
- The intro section is too loud in relation to the main section of the song and takes away from the impact when the rhythm section comes in.

It's a decent mix. I think you can clean it up a little and take it up a notch.

thanks for the comment

I do agree with what you said,

I wanted to play this "live garage/cave" thing but may be a bit too much. especially on that rythmic guitar.

And indeed the level of the intro is too loud vs the first verse

thanks a lot for pointing that out
