Dunning Kruger: 'Japan Song' adgreen's mix
#1
This was a fun song. It took a couple of different attempts of mixing, wiping the effects and fader levels, and remixing before it felt comfortable. Nothing terribly unique was done to this mix, besides for overusing multiband compressors (seems to happen when learning new tools). The whole mix is kind of quiet, but still has good energy. Loudness is the mastering engineers job right???Big Grin

Some self critique and notes after taking a post bounce listen:

-Mid frequencies in verse vocals sound a little flat. Should have used a knee on the multiband compressor for that frequency range.

-String solo in the bridge is quiet

-the last tom hits stick out in the mix

-Strings in outro are buried a bit
