The Doppler Shift: 'Atrophy'
#1
Here is Version 1.
2 hour mix in reaper using reaper plugins and a couple of free plugins .
Not yet mastered just a reaper limiter on the master bus.

Version 2 mixed 16-7-17 almost a year later hopefully sounds a touch better than version 1

i- Vox are pretty harsh (not smashed enough lol )
2-Bass is too loud i think and booms
Very bad in the chorus and really clashes with the guitars
because the guitars are sounding muddy down there also.

It could mainly just have those problems looked at i think .

Hello,Don!
The mix sounds soft. I haven't decided if I like it or not, cause on the one hand it is well balanced, on the other hand i want more agressive soundHuh
Cheers!

Ha I did the same thing, I mixed this song after a year too.

The bass guitar and kick drum are fighting each other in low freq
Kick is buried
The verse vocal is a little too loud for my taste and slightly honky in that 1K range.
The guitar lick after the first chorus is very loud and sticks out like a sore thumb.
I do like most of the drum sounds overall.
there is a balance issue with the synths and maybe a little loud but this is a taste issue for me.
