Hello everyone,
I'm primarily a video game music composer, so I work mainly with virtual orchestral/world instruments, as well as various soft synths. I do all of my own mixing.
However, I've never had the opportunity to mix anything that was recorded live, and especially nothing in the genre of jazz.
I decided to try my hand at mixing this piece since it is only six tracks and probably a good candidate to get my feet wet and see if I could mix this type of music using the skills I've learned from mixing my own game soundtracks.
Instead of telling you about the techniques I used or what plugins I used, I'd rather just let the mix speak for itself. I tried to do this mix as quickly as possible and not get hung up with endless fiddling. Once I was happy with a sound, I generally moved on to the next task. Since this is my first attempt at mixing anything live recorded, I'm open to any critique you may have about the mix since I'm hoping to learn from any mistakes I may have made.
