Hey guys!
So here's my first mix on this site. I found this one to be quite hard because I'm used to double tracked guitars which can be usually hard panned. This one had DI & amp mics, so I was a bit confused and unsure how to achieve a proper stereo image.
I ended up reamping the DI and widening the amp tracks for a more roomy feel.
The second challenge was the guitar track itself. Tone-wise it was quite okay, but I'm having a really hard time to locate this howling resonant frequency that seems to be present on all guitar tracks. I ended up with a lot of deep & narrow notches around 5.6 KHz, but it still doesn't seem to remove it completely.
Open for suggestions
Edit: as suggested by Blitzzz, Metal should by overcompressed and loud as hell. Attaching a second (louder) mix for comparison
