Not an easy mix this one .

On this one, it is almost worth trying to sample and then entirely replace the bass because of how softly it was recorded (and that the performance drifts just a bit). Wants more grit and weight but it's hard to manage. I think I ended up adding something like 20dB gain on it, nevermind the compressors. I think a little more rattle on the snares would help this mix. Pushing the upper frequencies on the kick drum back a bit might also help. Think I'm hearing it too much and not quite feeling it enough.

Yeah your right about the kick.Yes the bass is really badly recorded .
