The Wrong'uns - Rothko (Dan Updegraff mix)

This song really grew on me. Kudos to the Wrong'uns for creating it!

While I usually strive to copy Mike's mix as much as possible, I just didn't prefer the sound of the acoustic guitars. So I deviated from the wisdom of my teacher and found my own sound.

Overall, I am really happy with this mix. It still lacks a bit of punch that Mike is able to get. My guess is the bass in my version isn't as tight and crisp as Mike's. Not sure though.

Nothing wrong with the choices you have made. I love how much variety we can all achieve given we're using the same source files!
The acoustic guitars sound nice and clear without being toppy, though they might come in just a little too loud during the guitar solo at 1:57.
The backing vocals are also a tad too quiet.
I know it's hard to decide on what should come up into focus and by how much during some parts of the song

I think you have made a nice mix of this song.

Thanks Dags. Yeah, I was so concerned about how loud to make the lead electric guitar at 1:57 it never crossed my mind to lower the acoustics. lol
