In a real-world mixing situation, a mixer has to be able to hit a mix within a few hours and move on to the next song.. Don, your mix is straight to my ears.. send it to mastering and be done with it.. everything is where it needs to be for the mastering guy to adjust it IMO..

It's a pretty good sounding mix Don. Everything feels connected. Some little things: to my ear it sound like the mid-range in either the bass or kick (maybe even both) is clouding up the lead vocal. It just seems like it's not sitting quite as nicely as it could be and struggling to stay in there when all the instruments are playing. Overall the low mids seem to be a bit much in spots. I also don't hear the piano. (and that could be a choice you made). The snare could use some help in the first half of the song. Overall though, great job Don. It's a really cohesive mix and I can hear all the main parts clearly.

Hi DDL,
Thanks for having a listen and kind words.
One Day I would love to do be able to do a mix within a few hours and have the mastering engineer say there is nothing fix ,but I might be in a straight jacket or a nursing home by then lol.
Cheers Big Grin
Don.

I like your mix Don

Like the smoothness of it and the Verb treatment over all. Good Job.

I like your mix a lot, Don! If you are going for a second version, try to work a little bit more on those sibilants. What I did in my mix was to turn down manually all those 's' to a more 'bearable' level, and then just to make sure that everything was under control, I used a deesser just like you do all the time. By doing that I was more confident about not getting rid of all the air in the vocal track.
