Limited inputs/Mics and you've always gotta have the bottom snare mic Wink

What a sparkling mix Big Grin

However I don't know how I will do this job (will mix this song this night) your mix is great (as always)

Maybe maybe maybe an itsy pitsy too modern defined concerning the dynamics, do not pull too much on here, its just my initial feeling about this song: cosy, warm, close, 70's, fitting a slightly cosier approach, just a suggestion while I have to go through this song this night hahahaha

great job friend, great job.

cheers,
Luc
Hi Luc.

Cheers Big Grin

Yeah! Let me start with the things that are just right on the money: Love the snare and the guitar solo.....and the kick and bass. There are just a few things that I did notice that I wanted to comment on. First, there seems to be some hiss in the mix (you might have intended that so it's no big deal of course). The lead vocal sounds a bit distant and a bit thin. Also, something is going on with the toms....seem a bit out of place somehow..can't really explain it...some kind of phasing thing...they don't seem a part of the kit. The artist did appear to have sound-replaced the toms or added samples to the existing toms, etc., so that proved, for me, a bit of a challenge to make the whole kit sound cohesive. Just a few thoughts otherwise I really enjoyed you mix.

As you would say......CHEERS !!!!

Hi tom.
I found the hiss to be a 1176 compressor on the guitar track, still have to work on the drums and vocals !
Thanks for the feedback and kind words

I agree a good drummer can make all the difference Big Grin.

Just listened to version3. Good mix, man but then I've come to expect that from you. Smile

Love the way you handled that snare. That was a big problem for me, trying to figure out how to get it under control without sounding like I was pushing it to the back of the room.

Thanks for having a listen Azwayne, With the snare after about 26 mix downs lol , I ended up using the Waves CLA drum plugin on the recorded snare track which has a set eq curve and added a sample for some top end.
I still have to do some more work especially on the snare as Mike Senior had demonstrated in his Patreon mix critic of version 3.

Cheers Big Grin
