Heartbeats (West 3rd Studios Mix)
Hey everyone. I just realized I mixed this song a while back (May 2014) and never uploaded it. I can't remember exactly how I mixed it, but I can definitely tell I sampled the drums during the chorus parts - they're a little too sampled actually.

Let me know what you think!

Nice effect on the open. Vocals are maybe too high after that though.
Might just be my ears but this mix feels like it leans to the left a bit.
Great ambience on the vocals.

Generally, a good mix. Nicely done.

Nice mix! I like what you did with the stereo field, it's very wide. I will apply that to my own mix. Also realise I need to bring out the snares a bit more on the verses. Definitely one of the better mixes I've heard on here.

RE: Heartbeats (West 3rd Studios Mix)
Of all the mixes I listened to, this is my favorite i.e. the most like how I would've mixed it :-)

I really like the assertive sound in the EDM parts, with a nice full sound, not sparse like most of the others. Maybe not as true to the particular genre, but I like messing with conventions :-) The rock parts really rock out, contrasting well with the EDM parts.

The only minuses I might say:
- the kick sounds really odd in the rock parts, it seems to be missing a lot of bottom end, and sometimes sounds almost the same as the snare :-)
- the backing vocals in the "falling" section and bridge are much brighter than the main vox, which makes them more prominent and forward than the more important lead vocal
