Third time lucky- less raw

Ok so here's a slightly less "raw" effort!


Still kind of struggling with the bass guitar, any tips on eq or compression would be appreciated!

Steel, this is a good mix overall, everything has a hard edge to it but still is polished and full sounding without being muddy. For my taste the lead guitar could use some reverb and some sort of modulation (a Phaser would be really cool) to help it fit into the mix a little better. The delay on the vocals towards the end is a nice touch but its second instance is quite high up in the mix and could be pushed more into the background. If you are having trouble with the bass try taking 5 dBs of gain reduction off with a compressor, then use an eq to boost 110 or 220 Hz and scoop a little at 800. After that run another compressor lobbing off 2-3 dBs of compression and finally hit a limiter to remove any remaining peaks. This will take any variance in volume away from the bass and give you a solid low end for the mix. Running some parallel distortion on the bass can also reinforce the bass in the mix and help it blend with the guitars.
