Following on from my last thread (I guess you can only post mp3s in a new thread and not as a reply?)...

tidied up some parts, layered a snare sample, replaced the kick, and added compression to the drum bus.

Actually, I'm interested what is common practice here for drum compression- I have compression on the kick submix and the drum bus but not on the snare submix; I didn't think it needed it, and there was too much bleed unless I totally replaced the snare with a sample or gated it to hell (personally I don't like the sound of a totally sampled snare but rather some mix of mic and sample). Are you guys compressing the snare on its own or just as part of the drum bus, or both?

Still quite a raw mix, next up I'll try the popular overproduced (in my opinion) approach I guess Smile
