Hi Dan, Sounds very natural to me :-) Only checked on monitors while my dog ate my headphones... However for my taste the bass is a bit deep / loud, however you call it, maybe a tiny teeny bit less? ;-) Nice mix Cheers, Luc

Try putting a HPF on it, just cutting the very lows - with the cut frequency around 30 to 50Hz, then put HPFs on several of the other tracks, but at higher frequencies - anywhere from 100 to even 300Hz, depending on what content is in that track. I think it did a HPF at about 190Hz on the main vocal for instance. The very low HPF on the bass will tighten it up and the higher HPFs on other channels will cut a space open in the frequency spectrum for the bass to shine through without feeling muddy. Was the phasing on the main vocal during the chorus intentional, or an artifact? Not sure it quite fits in the context of the sound... If it was unintentional, maybe there's a phase issue between the vocal mic and one of the room mics. I'd like to hear more of that guitar solo in your mix. It is a feature solo and I think of it as taking the center stage like the vocal during the solo. Please feel free to check out my mix and compare. Hope this was helpful, WaltsAudio |
