Hello thedon

Good mix, it has a lot of energy and there is good separation from the instruments. Some things i would like to point out:

The guitar could use a little boost, maybe some automation. And the drums sound a little thin, with no attack.

Besides that, its a good mix.

Thanks Thetanks for having a listen,I agree will work on the guitar and the attack on the drums in the next version ,i think i over cooked the mix with the master limiter also Blush
Cheers Big Grin

I would like to perhaps like to hear the tom rolls a little more. I see what the other guy means about the drums, they could benefit from more fattening up. Great mix otherwise. This was a fun song to mix about a year ago over at indabamusic. So easy to mix it when it was very well tracked in the first place. All telefunken mics I believe.

Hi Dave
The drums definitely need fattening up and more tom rolls in the next version.
Cheers for the feedback Big Grin

thedon,

This is a very solid mix. Frankly, while I agree on one level with the thin drums feedback, I think moreover to my thinking, the kick just needs to become more prominent; the overall sound of your mix has a very "recorded live in a performance venue" feel to it, which I think works just fine for this!

My only real gripe would be that it is a smidgeon heavy in the high mids, particularly with the lead vocal, which was already harsh there to begin with.

Otherwise, spot on imo. Good work.

Hi Don,
I like... I've just come back from a music festival and you have captured a really nice live ambience sound and space. Works well with headphones.
Dave.
