Never Say Goodbye RJMIX
#1
This one was pretty tough to mix in my opinion. Vocals and guitar were quite harsh and I felt the drums needed to be tightened.

Cheers!

Really nice mix. Would like to read up on your lead vox treatment as it´s pretty damn close to perfect. If anything, maybe a bit tougher on the deessing.

Personally I´m getting tired of "cool" emphasising echoes. Not just this mix but everywhere. I don´t know what it takes to not have it be like... yeah, there´s a cool echo effect again that I heard in all tracks before this morning. I don´t know, I use it too, I think we need to come up with something new soonSmile

Nice work. Tell us about your vox treatment.

I agree, with the source material, you did a superb job on the vocals.

Kudos!

Thanks!

The echos... I was not convinced it would add something. Now I know it doesn't Smile
I changed it in MIX2.

My vocal chain was much more complicated than normal. I had two multiband compressors (few dBs reduction), one for the harsh nasal sounds around 2k and one for the harsh 6k. Both pretty broad Q's. I also warmed it up with EQ around 60-100Hz, but dipped it around 200Hz.

I also deharshed the guitar around 5k.

Cheers!
