Firstly, this song is awesome!

I really had fun mixing this one. All the mic's gave you many options as far as tone and allowed you to really experiment as you went along.

I did no automation as nothing really stood out for me as too loud or soft in some parts over others

Yeah, he really is a good performer. Nice working on stuff like this.

Perhaps a touch heavy on the low end of the kick. Also if you are going to go back and do automation, the guitar is the place to work. It's on the boundary of stepping on the vocal instead of accenting it. Might want to also bring up the background vocals a touch.

One point this multitrack makes is that a well performed and well recorded song makes mixing a relatively fast and enjoyable task. You don't have to spend time trying to fix things that went wrong in the studio and can instead focus on making the song really sparkle. So all you recording engineers out there should take note. "Fix it in the studio."
