I thought the separation was well played. It still felt like a rough mix for some reason. Vocals sounded very nice. I think the drum room and overheads really through you for a loop. For what its worth I had to use a LOT of subtractive eq on many of the tracks on this song. Today's "Christian Music" focuses on "Lush" sounds and I think the direction you took deviated from that. Some ideas for snares can be gated reverbs, parallel compression, transient designers, and tone generators - or plugins like Rbass, to help thicken snares.
