This is a fair point to make.

It's always good to check polarity of the tracks (live or otherwise) and see if one way or the other puts the signals more in phase. There is a give and take of course. The out of phase 3d 'depth' might be more pleasing while sacrificing low end and mono compatibility but being more out of phase might be worth it. I think we're a little too worried about phase sometimes. It's ok to be out of phase (which is a somewhat poor term) if you're aware of it and know the consequences and compensate if necessary.

Remember equalization is pretty much flipping or reinforcing specific frequency polarities.
It doesn't have to sound good. People just need to think it sounds good.
