@Olli: I think that the problem was that there was too much trebble on the master bus. I've tried to balance it better and I believe it now most of the things you said started to sound better

@Don: you amaze me with your ability to pinpoint the right frequency with the problem. Yes, it was 1,5 khz the frequency on the banjo! I followed your advice and with a dynamic eq plugin I think I've "tamed" it
