First comment shul put on here..and most of his posts of others come to think of it are negative and downbeat...same with my mix.
No mention of nothing but 'your mix is sh*t'. Thanks a lot guys.
The multitracks on the vocals and drums were awful. Did what I could with basic equipment and tried to salvage it.
The mix has minimal distortion...is under clipping and stays within the K14 meters to a certain degree.
The distortion might be a clash in the Mid/High frequencies rampant in the raw multitracks around 2.8k and 8-9k. These make it difficult to cut totally and not destroy the mix.
Anyway, try to give encouragement.
If you had a friend who was overweight you wouldnt call him a 'fat c*nt'. Hopefully you would help him beat it and encourage him to lose some weight.
Enjoy your sponsored Pro Tools 12 rig takka. Your gonna need it.

The mix is balanced, however there is clearly a decent amount of compression especially on the snare and when the lead vocals kick in. The drums themselves are energetic and punchy and the guitars aren't harsh. It's a rough mix, it needs work. Also don't make excuses about the equipment you're using, it's the person behind the equipment, not the other way around.
Mixing is way more art and soul than science. We don’t really know what we’re doing. We do it because we love music! It’s the love of music first. Eddie Kramer
