Rachel - HB Mix - HbGuitar - 03-02-2015

love this song.....pretty tricky getting a nice balance.....tried it every which way but settled on this version in the end, which was one of my first.

Hi!
I think you got a nice level balance, maybe the ukelele is too much bright.
I like how you treat the vox very nice work.
To mute sometimes the congas is a good idea, I don't know if you did because they were out of beat...anyway some quantization will make some benefit to them (in my mix I muted them from the top because of it...lol...I work in Logic8 and I still don't have that magic tool).
Maybe you can cut the low end of the bass and push 200Hz and also for the cello you can cut a bit more on the low end part of the spectrum if you didn't Wink

All best

Hey Jacques, thanks for listening and for your feedback. I muted the congas from time to time mainly to get a little bit of dynamic variety through the song.

Cheers

Nice vox and overall balance pretty good.
Brave for mixing it as I downloaded it and had a
quick listen to the tracks and pushed delete

Thanks mate.....this sort of mix is usually right in my sweet spot...but honestly I struggled to get a balance that I liked with the arrangement....I came close to pulling the plug a number of times
