SET ME FREE - drummersmix - drummersmix - 01-02-2015 Here's my attempt. Fun using Steely Dan as a reference. Ya dig? RE: SET ME FREE - drummersmix - ptalbot - 01-02-2015 Hey drummersmix! That's a cool one! And of course Steely Dan is a good reference, I love them! I like the punch in the drums/bass combo and the balance overall. The added beat on the first loop is a nice touch although the transition back from it is a bit abrupt. A few things are not really working IMHO: First, the reverb on the vocal, it's too pronounced and it doesn't sound great to me. The delay/phasing on the "Set Me Free" is a good idea but it's not entirely successful ATM, the delay sound a bit out of time, and the effect is perhaps too much? Finally the reverb on the lead guitar is too much as well, I would try to add some pre-delay to bring the lead closer. Keep it up! |
