Angelsaint - Mix & Master(ish) - Judders - 09-10-2014 Hi guys, This place is such a great resource. Much easier to be objective about other people's music. This one was deceptively tricky in places. That bass in particular. I look forward to any critique V2 (Angelsaint_Judders) is 3 1/2 years later. RE: Angelsaint - Mix & Master(ish) - sweatbox - 09-10-2014 i like the bass in this mix. everything else i thought was a bit dry, but i was the rare one that thought this song lacked alot of air. i do like the levels for alot of the background tracks though, they poke thru really nice. great job overall though RE: Angelsaint - Mix & Master(ish) - Judders - 09-10-2014 Thanks for the feedback I tend to prefer drier sounding things for the most part. A matter of taste I guess. I liked the raw vocal so much, it was only right at the end of the mix I added the slightest touch of reverb. I like the up-front and kind of harsh sound. Thanks again. RE: Angelsaint - Mix & Master(ish) - sweatbox - 10-10-2014 its definately a matter of taste, and i guess thats why we all bring different things to the plate. keeping it dryer really lets all the little things make it thru alot better though. great job regardless though. Even less reverb! There are still things I like about the first mix, but it's way too scooped in the mids and a lot of balances are off. I still think this is a deceptively tricky one! EDIT: The original is so scooped and bass-heavy, that if you listen to the new mix straight after the old one, the new one will sound way too thin and midrangey. |
