Black Out Betty - Mr.Zhenek - 17-11-2012 Hi,it's my mix RE: Black Out Betty - Mike Senior - 22-02-2013 A reasonable balance here, and the depth perspective which has caused a number of other mixes here difficulties seems more believable -- except for maybe the tom fills. The distortion effect on the rap vocal is quite nice, but it does interfere quite a bit with the intelligibility for me, which is always a danger. I reckon you could improve matters by notching a little with a narrow peak around 3.5kHz to zap the effect's strong resonance there. As it is this peak is encouraging you to balance that vocal too low in level I think, because it's poking out of the mix very strongly, even when he's quite difficult to interpret. The backing vocal effect is a bold statement, but I'm not sure it works for me. It's kind of too bland to sound not like a mistake, and yet inflates those BVs to the point where they seem to swamp the lead. Maybe something like a cross-panned slap effect instead? |
