Ambitions Analog mix - Analog Dude - 08-02-2023

Spent most time on the drums in search for energy. lots of inconsistency in the snare hits gave me a hard time. Guitars sounded good.
Do you like it?

Edit:
Didn´t like my first mix, sounded lame.
New mix3:
Adjusted level on snare hits.
Added hard parallel compression to drums.
Added low end to guitars.
Bass; added distortion, subtracted low end.
More buss compression with faster attack.
Less reverb on lead.
Better?

you did great with drum snare tone.. I like overall mix.
I could not fix the drum, here : https://discussion.cambridge-mt.com/showthread.php?tid=45732
too much bleed.

Thanks for your comment!
My snare sound: gate, slight high end boost, high ratio dbx comp, and yamaha wood room reverb. There is also bus compression and paralel (crush) compression going on.
As mentioned, I turned down the level on several sections.
I fully understad why other mixers here replace that snare.

Yes the drum is terrible, I think most would fix them at the source rather than in the mix anyways.
But yea it's amazing how you are able to recreate the snare using eq/compression/reverb.
kudos to you and cheers  Smile
