Eliza Jane - Mix by Sara - Sara - 17-03-2020 Warmly welcome to your feedback. Thank you! RE: Eliza Jane - Mix by Sara - Frej - 19-06-2021 This sounds great! Warm and natural, just like this kind of music should sound. The way heard it, the first part of the solo is a steel guitar solo, and the second part is mandolin solo. You seem to have made the same decision There are just a couple of things I think you could improve: - The sibilance of the vocal is a bit distracting. You could try tweaking your de-esser or adding a slight low pass filter to the vocals. - There is a bit too much going on in this mix. I would recommend muting the mandolins during some parts of the song. When mixing this, I found that mandolin 1 worked best as the "lead" and I only kept mandolin 2 in some parts. This is a great recording, so the sound is good as long as you don't mess it up. The part that's really tricky about this one is to clean up the crowded arrangement. I think muting and automation are the best tools for this. |
