Layered Percussion - majew7 - 12-02-2020 I believe this is the first song I'm mixing on Cambridge MT that has no vocals. While I initially perceived the Marimba to be the lead instrument (as it starts the song)... I actually think it isn't always so. I chose to use subtle animation on various instruments to help evolve the song for a percussion section that while very layered, is a little too consistent, IMHO. Working on the low-end of the song was difficult for me, as the Bombo was very overwhelming. Almost sounds like a Djembe on the bottom. I had my brother-law point it out, and we EQed it back significantly, and I used animation to feature it sometimes. Please give me feedback! |
