VMGY- Aureus Necrosis - jorhaowei - 05-02-2020 Spent a lot of time making the drums sound huge while still ensuring that there's plenty of clarity with the guitars.Boosted quite a bit around 4k and 6k to make sure that the kick can be heard over the mix.Boosted around 900 hz and 7k for the snare to have a nice pop and snap.Cut a bit of 2.5k from the drum bus to create some space for the rhythm guitars and also made sure that the drums would not overwhelm the guitars. Feedback welcome! RE: VMGY- Aureus Necrosis - DMCovers - 05-02-2020 overall a pretty balanced sound, good job -hihat seems very loud and a bit harsh -snare is too quiet -orchestral elements are pretty loud -toms are pretty roomy (of course personal preference) -overall the mix is rather overcompressed (clearly noticable at around 1:45, when the toms hit and everything else just gets quiet) RE: VMGY- Aureus Necrosis - jorhaowei - 07-02-2020 (05-02-2020, 04:54 PM)DMCovers Wrote: overall a pretty balanced sound, good job Hi I went back and listened to it and I agree with you.I tamed the harsh frequencies of the hi-hat,made the snare louder, lowered the levels of the orchestral parts and pulled back on the compression. Thanks for the feedback! Let me know what you think about this new version. |
