Summer Time (need some advice) - keith92 - 25-10-2019 Hi guys, here is where I am at for the moment on my mix of Summer Time. I did a bit of EQ and reverb and as well as some panning to create kind of a side to side ambiance. The thing that is bothering me the most at the moment regarding this mix is the permanent background sound of blowing into the sax. As I am just starting out, I am not 100% sure how to get rid of it, should I do some cutting in the frequencies of the sax? Should I apply a noise gate, but if so, how should I manage it not to lose any of the actual sax. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much! RE: Summer Time (need some advice) - garyjakubicki - 28-03-2020 I m no expert but years ago i played a bit of saxophone..... i believe the breathy tone you describe falls under the category of subtone and may be intentional by the artist if not generally desirable.. https://tamingthesaxophone.com/saxophone-subtone#Subtone_what_is_it |
