Revelations - Retchid Gretchin - 23-04-2019 Revelations RE: Revelations - delicate - 23-04-2019 Hi there! Thank you for leaving a message on my submission thread. I've listened to your mix a couple of times alone and also referenced it against mine and some other mixes here that I more or less liked. Key issues: — the guitars are too edgy and harsh—at some moments they feel like a digital distortion which is quite unpleasant. — drums could have benefited from more definition, they get lost in busier parts of the track. — I hear lots of build-up in low-mid range, makes the thing muddy. — occasionally some annoying resonances pop up. probably you need to take a closer look at taming the source material. I found your approach to vocal kind of interesting. Not sure if that is intended, but it sounds really vintage, which I enjoyed (in my case I aimed for clarity). Still could have been a little bit more tidier & cleaned up. I also like overall balance in the second part of the song (starting from 2:40, roughly). The guitars are more controlled there. Have a good day! |
