Bolz & Knecht: Brahms's 'Hungarian Dance No. 5' - lbauer - 17-03-2019

Hi guys,

I'm Lucas from Brazil.

This is the very first mix i did on my own.

Please be nice.

Thanks for posting! The mix is very nice. Sax off to the right, guitar left, some gentle reverberation, probably about half and half guitar direct input vs mic?

I'm listening with headphones. I think the sax is a little too far right. The saxophone sound is rich and aurally fatiguing when it's so prevalent on my right ear, maybe tighten up the balance a little. In fact, keeping the guitar left and putting the sax more in the middle can give the same impression without overloading the right ear.

I'm not a fan of the reverberation used here; it sounds like a delay/echo instead of a smooth reverberation.

It's a pleasure listening, thanks!

Thank you so much for the feedback!

I only used the DI guitar. The mic one was giving me so much trouble, so i gave up.

I'll try to get the sax better.

About the reverberation, right now reverb is the trickiest part of the mix for me. I used a room reverb on both tracks, but i used a delay on the sax too.

I'll make some adjustments and repost the song.

Once again thank you!
