It’s not a problem in the DAW because there’s no data compression; lossy exaggerates resonances. I should have played the lossy over a crappy, upper mid range focused system for a final check before submission, to get a layman’s perspective.

Back in the mix, I’ve applied a static EQ of -6dB, Q 5.8 at ~2400Hz. There’s additional dynamic control in the range -8dB or so, to address any restless peaks the encoder might want to exaggerate and draw attention to, at that frequency.

Lots of skill on display with this mix. Sonically, I would never think to go this route.....but everything works extremely well. Love the balance.
