Here's My Take On It - darell.clark - 19-12-2018

I have nearly no experience with mixing these kinds of vocals, so I would like some input on how to make them better. I can't tell if the rest of the mix seems too compressed or not. Input is encouraged!

With metal, generally try and make use of those "machine gun" kick samples to really let the kick groove cut through the guitars in the 2-5k range.

As for the vocals, distortion is always a great option - with an addition of a little widening especially if only one take was done (like in this song) using maybe a stereo slap with controlled pan.

Overall definitely sounds beefy, although I personally would look to hear more in the mid-high range for a song like this.
