I am Cassettes Believe - PortalSound - 14-06-2018 Greetings, It has been awhile since I last posted here. Been pretty busy finishing my new Studio and adjusting to the new place and monitors. Went back and took a new look at this tune. Hope you like it. Mike RE: I am Cassettes Believe - Shul - 14-06-2018 Hello here are my observations. *vocals have way too much de-esser on them. *second instrumental section solo is very loud in comparison with everything else. *did you use a snare sample? I don't remember if I used one in mine but here in this mix the snare sounds very compressed and it lacks that good smack on it. *in the outro I would have liked for the strings to surface more. It's quite a beautiful arrangement on them it compliments the song well. Hope this helps. Keep it up. RE: I am Cassettes Believe - PortalSound - 15-06-2018 Shul, Thanks for the tips. *I edit instead of de-ess. usually do radical first and add back to suit customer. In this case left it radical. Don't know why. * Just solo guitar and acoustic here. Didn't want to lose momentum by lowering level too much. * yep snare sample. Cut a little smack to fit a little with the orchestra. * Outro strings or guitars. Picked guitars. Had to choose thruout. Mike |
