My mix of Hold On You - Dogbert - 02-06-2018 08:21 PM

Hello there, this is my mix of this nice song.
I would appreciate some feedback, thanks.

Hey Dogbert!
Imo, the bass is a little loud and has some low mid frequencis that drowns other instruments.
I think your mix will get more open and sound better if you just redo the bass.
You could also try and cut some mids (400-600) on some of the other instruments.
Other than that, your mix sounds awesome! Keep it up!

Thanks. Yeah, I made that mix like 6 months ago, now I'm hearing too much bass in my mixes from that time.

A new mix. The bass was to big and boomy.
I find this song problematic, some dynamics and some frequencies are a little out of control.
But I love the song. James, if you read this, I really like your style and this is one of my favorite songs of yours.

Hey Dogbert, it's gettin' there. Can you automate your EQ during the snare rim-shots? I found 1.2k, 2.4k and 5.2k were all peaking and could be cut selectively during only those sections.
