I'm Alright-Angels & Amplifiers (Mastered to -12 LUFS) - Stu Morton - 27-02-2018 I've been a Sound on Sound subscriber for years but just discovered this site. I mixed "I'm Alright", then Mastered it to -12 LUFS Stu RE: I'm Alright-Angels & Amplifiers (Mastered to -12 LUFS) - davemcg61 - 28-02-2018 Hi Stu, and welcome to CMT. I just gave your mix a listen - 2 listens actually - once on the crummy mono headphone I'm currently attached to at work, and again via the slightly less crummy stereo laptop speakers. I hear kick drum attack, which is good considering the speakers, and a nice balance of guitars, bass and piano with the vocals. I'll give this a listen later on my studio monitors too, but I'm sure I'll like your mix even more through decent speakers. Good job! RE: I'm Alright-Angels & Amplifiers (Mastered to -12 LUFS) - Kevinw0lf - 28-02-2018 That's one great approach, "make it tame and won't tire your ears", but just a touch too much of slam on the kick and the vocal sound just a bit veiled. Those are a single dB change and would be just right. I would say a +1 dB at 5 KHz would be good for vocals. |
