RE: James May - Hold on you - voelund hands on faders mix - Voelund - 11-01-2018 And a Pultec type eq bass - thanks Don Also treated drum overheads with a compander kinda thing from the Yamaha mixer, it did wonders for the cymbals I think. RE: James May - Hold on you - voelund hands on faders mix - takka360 - 11-01-2018 Im wondering if the room verb here is making it all slightly muddy sounding RE: James May - Hold on you - voelund hands on faders mix - Olli H - 11-01-2018 Now it's bold and beautiful. RE: James May - Hold on you - voelund hands on faders mix - Dangerous - 16-01-2018 Great work with both mixes, quite contrasting. For me and my ears Niels, I think I like the first mix is preferable. I like the sparse arrangement which naturally gives a nice focus to the vocal performance. I also like the smoother and more relaxed sound. Nicely managed. In comparison the second mix feels a bit tight and squared up maybe too percussive. Like it's compressor driven. As I said, quite contrasting. Just my thoughts. Thanks for the enjoyable listen. Dave |
