My New Day Dawning mix (my first mix here) - mojbro - 09-12-2017 Hi, This is my first attempt at mixing something since I started reading Mike's fantastic book, which I'm not through yet. I tried to focus mainly on balance and EQ (but I did add a little bit of compression to the bass and drums, but not much, and some reverb to two of the guitars). I found it very hard figuring out the structure of the song. What's the chorus? Whats a verse? If that was more clear to me, I think I would have tried to make the choruses bigger and the verses smaller. The song feels a bit more like a jam than like a song now. That's nice, but might get a little uninteresting after a while. How would you approach it? Grateful for any constructive feedback! Thanks |
