The Dice first attempt - JT62 - 27-11-2017 I have only minor experience from mixing in the digital domain before this attempt so I guess you can say that this is my first attempt to mix a whole song. Really liked the song and it was fun working on it. A couple of notes: I do like as much of a natural sound as possible, I'm a kind of a 70´s guy, I guess. I actually skipped the #2 and #3 guitars and only used the #1's. I had big problems with the bass. I have to be honest and say that I didn't get along with the recorded sound and I saw from a video that it might have been a Warwick bass being used which kind of confirms the characteristics of the sound. It's not the ringing tones I like, like from a Jazz or Precision bass. I did what I could, I'm sure others have succeded better. The mix sounded good in my AKG K271 but I feel there's more to do when I listen to the monitors. Equipment used: Garageband with no extra plugins. AKG K271 and Presonus E4.5. Looking forward to feedback. |
